My great-grandfather was born James Arthur Calicutt on November 2, 1881 and we think he had 2 sisters but we don't know their names. He was adopted by W.B. and Minerva Cranford Lassiter when he was about 10 years old and they changed his name to James Arthur Lassiter. The couple that adopted him lived in Farmer near Asheboro in Randolph Co.,NC which is not to far from Montgomery County and I think my great-grandfather was possibly orginially from Montgomery Co. His birth is about the same time as your family, I was just wondering if there could be a connection or if you might know someone who could help us find out about his biological parents.
