In the 1860 Oak Grove, Dodge, WI Census, p. 95-6, Sydney Castle, age 40, is listed as head of household for, among others, a William Huntley, age 17, and Gay S. Castle, age 30. The 1850 Trenton, Dodge, WI Census lists William Castle, age 69, as head of household for, among others, William Huntley, age 7, Emily Huntley, age 34, James (?) R.L. Huntley, age 2, and Lila S., 5 months; in addition to Gay S. Castle. Finally, the 1840 Florence, Oneida, NY Census lists William Castle on page 208, and 3 males, one each 10-15, 15-20, and 30-40, and 4 females, 1 each under 5, 5-10, 20-30, and 30-40. Just above his listing is a Phineas Castle, with one male 60-70, and 2 females, one each 20-30 and 60-70. On page 207 there is a listing for Edward Castle and males 1 each under 5, 10-15, 30-40; and females 1 each 5-10, 10-15, 20-30, and 30-40, and on page 209 a listing for Eri A. Castle, and 3 males 1 each under 5, 5-10 and 30-40, and one female 30-40. Also, the Boonville, Oneida, NY Census lists an Amasa Huntley and, among others, two males between 10-15. Here's the guesswork: I'm fairly sure that William is Sidney's father based upon the linkage of William Huntley and Gay S. Castle to both families. I just have no direct proof. Further, I am wondering if Emily Huntley was married to one of the sons of Amasa Huntley, and if in fact Emily may have been Sidney and Gay's sibling. Finally, might there be some further linkage to William, Edward and Eri as brothers, and Phineas as their father? Clear as mud, I'm sure. Any takers? Thanks in advance for your kind assistance.
