I was correct in my previous posting. I can now post the following information:
Samuel and Elizabeth Blower observed the christening of their son W'm. on the aforementioned date. William eventually married Mary Clark. William and Mary produced several children, namely Ella and Maria (twins) born 1835, John born 1838, James born 23 October,1840,at Monmouth, England/Wales, died 5 August 1915 at Jamestown, NY, and Elizabeth born 15 October 1843, and died 15 February, 1903 at Portland, NY. John married Mary Batchelor and lived in California, Ella in Walworth County, Wisconsin, and Maria in Pocatello,Idaho. Ella married Elliot Castle, and Marie married Phillip Belton. James served in the Civil War with Co. H 10th.NY Inf Reg't. from 1861 until 1863, was disabled, and never married. He is buried in Jamestown, NY in the Soldier's and Sailor's Plot of the Lakeview Cemetery.
According to the Census in 1860, William Blower was 52 years old, blind, and living with Ella and her husband, Elliot, in Williamstown, Oswego, County, NY. William's wife Mary is reported to have remarried to a man named Williams and thus produced a son George who in turn had a son Arthur. These Williams men are reported to have lived in Fayette or Fayetteville, NY, but I have yet to learn anything about them. Elizabeth married William Barger and produced several children, many of whom have offspring living in the Chautauqua County, NY area. One of these Barger children was Minnie Bertha who married Martin James Laning and became my grandmother. Elizabeth's husband William Barger died in 1890 in Portland, and she remarried to a man named Seymore Rice. She is buried in Wild Rose cemetery, Chautauqua County, NY with Seymore and his first wife. William Barger served in the Civil War and is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, NY, apparently in an unmarked grave.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has knowledge of any or all of these people.
Thanks, Gordon A. Sutton
