This post is for all of you who have helped me look for Rebecca over the past few years. I found a reference on the LDS site to a Rebecca Caswell b. July 14 1802 to Simon Caswell and Rebecca Dewey in Wendell, Franklin, MA. The parents of Simon Caswell are listed as John Caswell and Elizabeth and that Simon was the oldest of 12 children. I can find no more on this fmaily. Simon married a Rebecca Dewey on Aug 12 1799 in Sutton, Worcester, MA. I also found a John Caswell born to this couple in Nov 22 1805. Simon had a first wife, Sarah Hawley b. Jan 9 1742 in Marble, MA daughter of Shapley Hawley and Mary Dolliber. Simon and Sarah maried 1767 in Marblehead, MA and had one child listed, Shapley Hawley Caswell on Nov 11 1782. I found Simon on census living in Wendell, Franklin, MA as Simon Caswell, 1810 in brandon, Rutland, VT as Simeon Castle; 1820 census in Brandon, Rutland, VT as Simon Caswell. The son Shapley Hawley Caswell married Mary Jennison Newton Dec 2 1819 in Shrewsbury, Worcester, MA. They had one child Caroline S. Caswell b. Jun 8 1832 in Brandon, Rutland, VT. Simon must have passed away sometime in the 1820's as he does not show on census again that I can find, Shapley and his family must have gone back to MA as the daughter Caroline married an Elbridge G. Harwood in 1843 in Medway, MA. I was hoping that some of the researchers on this forum had a little more info on Simon Caswell, his son John and Rebecca. I know that Rebecca married my ggg grandfather in abt 1819 and moved to Ticonderoga, NY and had 5 children before passing away at the young age of 29. She is buried in Valley View Cemetery, Ticonderoga, NY Oct 8 1830. Thanks again for everything over the years. Barbara Moon Batista
