OK --- I sent off for the DNA test, received it, did the test, sent it back and yesterday received an Email from FamilyTree DNA that they had received my test. They give you a kit number and a password and make available a webpage so that you can check the progress of your DNA test. They say for the 12 marker test, which is the one that I got, that it will take about 4 weeks. I will make posts as this goes along. Maybe someone else will get interested enough to also get the DNA test for themselves. Maybe someone can get the Earl of cassel in Scotland to do the test, or someone who knows that their family came into Pennsylvania in the 1680s, etc. If we can compare some of our DNA we will be able to tell which group of Castle/Cassels we came from.
