Brooker, My feeling is that were not talkling German here but French. They may have came from Germany but I believe that they were really French. Take a look at this web site from a previous post that I just made to Genforum

He was a French Huguenot from Germany. This is one of the reasons that we need more people to take a DNA test. I just did mine and am waiting for the results. The Kennedy's of Scotland are doing a DNA project but only for the Kennedy Y males but if they have the same test numbers as I do then I can assume that our line goes to Scotland maybe very early on from Norman France. Or maybe a proven line to the Pennsylvania Cassels will show matching numbers. We Cassels are missing the boat on not getting more people into the DNA Cassels project at Family Tree DNA.
