You've asked a lot of questions, the answers to which I'm trying to establish. General information is that Mahala was born in Virginia (some say Russell County). There is some controversy over who her parents were. And, to further confuse things, it seems there is another named Mahala Castle who was born a few years later (1814 or thereabouts), whose parents were Zedekiah Castle and Julia Penix.
Mahala's first husband was William Harrison Young and their marriage in 1830 in Lawrence County KY is a matter of public record. Prior to the 1840 census, she and John Jobe ran away from their respective families and went to live in Adams County OH where they raised a family. Adams County courthouse had a fire in 1910 which destroyed most of the vital statistics that would provide information about them and their offspring.
