Hi John,
Thanks very much for the reply... yes, I had the baptism info of that John E Castle, and since posting it two years ago, I have additional circumstantial evidence leading me to believe I have the right one. This John E. Castle of Halling had an older brother Thomas who was later an engineer for a mining/barge company in the Halling area, and worked for a time in St Petersburg RUSSIA, where he had a son. Makes sense to me that his younger brother John may have followed his footsteps, at least for awhile.
Is this John related to you. If so, I have some additional information to pass on.
