A Casto would like help separating fact/myth

Hello, Everyone-

I am a Casto on my mother's side and would appreciate some input to determine the truth in a couple of legends I have heard.

1> Two Casto boys lived in seventeenth-century Basque country until they were essentially kidnapped by Captain Kidd

2> They became like sons to him and when they reached young adulthood, Captain Kidd let them go in Rhode Island with a generous nest egg for each.

3> One Casto boy's family eventually migrated to Franklin County, Ohio. They may have been farmers.

4> The other Casto boy moved to Virginia - or West Virginia?- where they became farmers.

This is fascinating to me, but the person in our family with the most reliable records is the one I trust the least to genuinely understand them. Any data would be a big help.

Thank you!

Paige
