As to the Casto legend of the two brothers kidnapped I have run across the same story in the Edwards family,
the Delashment family, the Shaw's, the Dempsy family, and several other families. The brothers are always kidnapped, abandoned, sold, family all died and left them on their own, etc. They ended up on a ship where they jumped off, escaped, were sold, swam to shore, etc. and ended up in America where they were the founding fathers of large families. I am afraid they are mostly just that, legends. However one could always hope.
