Stacy:

Absolutely this is true. Not only that, it is usually all from one family, that of John Chenoweth and Mary Calvert. The additional of a 'y' is was common in Texas, Arkansas and the south (though Chenoweths were not commonly in the deep south early on). Email me about your Chenoweth roots.

Common variant spellings:
CHENOWETH, CHENOWITH, CHENEWETH, CHENOWTH, CHENNOWETH, CHINOWETH, CHENNOWITH, CHINOWITH, CHYNOWETH, CHENOWIRTH, CHINOWIRTH, CHENOWORTH, CHENNERWORTH, CHENNEYWORTH, CHINNEYWORTH, CHENNEWORTH, CHINWORTH, CHINAWITH, CHINAWORTH, CHINEWORTH, CHINEWOTH, CHIENTH, CHINNETH, CHINOETH, CHINAUTH, CHINOUTH.
