Stacy: Absolutely this is true. Not only that, it is usually all from one family, that of John Chenoweth and Mary Calvert. The additional of a 'y' is was common in Texas, Arkansas and the south (though Chenoweths were not commonly in the deep south early on). Email me about your Chenoweth roots.
