Hello Shannon,
I apologize if I offended anyone that surely was not my intention! I research the Hiatt-Hiett Family and I was hooked up with Jon Egge on the Chenoweth and Hiatt-Hiett connection.
What got me started on Caroline Hiatt/Platt? was that I was able to connected all the Hiatt-Hiett's that Jon had except for her, so curiosity and persistence over took in trying to place her.
I live in Randolph Cty., IN. which is a big help since this was where they lived and raised their family. At the Winchester Community Library they have a copy of The Chenoweth Family In America, 1994, by Richard Harris and the original typed written notes of Cora /Chenoweth/ Hiatt, Cora's notes had Platt but it was smudged and the Harris book had Hiatt. This is when I went to the Randolph County Historical Society to look into their marriage and birth records as I laid out in the GenForum Message Board which all had Caroline recorded as a Platt. Jon Egge said this was what was originally in his records from Cora.
Please if this is wrong, share with me some of your source information around Caroline so I can make the necessary corrections. My only intentions was to share the information that I have and to try to have as correct as information as possible.
As for the books:
History of the Chenoweth Family by Cora Chenoweth Hiatt in 1925;
The Chenoweth Family In America, 1994, by Richard Harris
The Harris Book is a wonderfully put together book and I have intentions on ordering a copy of it and the reprint of Cora's Book, since I have family ties into the Chenoweth's and do research in Randolph Cty., Indiana. Again I apologize if I offended anyone with my posting that was not my intention. There are many Chenoweth's that still live in the Randolph Cty., IN. area as well as Hiatt's. I personally would like to work and share with this information, I feel that we could have alot to offer each other.
