Hi Kyla,
This is late in coming, but I just re-visited the Chynoweth forum and saw your post.
My step great grandfather John Chynoweth was from the line of Sampson Chynoweth from Cornwall.
His father's name as well as one of his brothers was Sampson, too.
It will save you a lot of time, if you still haven't got very far, to go to message 266 on this forum, where the Cora Hiatt Book is discussed. The letter from a Mrs. Sampson Cynoweth of Utah is mentioned and she is the wife of Sampson, brother of John. They were ranchers, as far as I can determine.
I do know that the family men wandered all over the world.
