Yvonne, I don't have any solid information either way. I have seen both discussions on whether or not Arthur Keith had any real proof or just speculation. Afraid I'm not qualified to set the record straight in either case. What I do know for fact is that many of the Chenowiths followed the same migration pattern from MD>Hampshire VA>Nelson and Hardin KY>MO>and even to OR. My line "probably" goes thru William Keith and Elizabeth Larue to youngest son Henry Keith who (circumstantially at least), had a son named Warren Cash Keith (1818 Hardin Co KY-1892 Yolo Co CA). Warren arrived in The Dalles Oregon in 1852 where from 1853 until 1855, he and Justin Chenowith were Wasco County commissioners (fancy word for deputies in what at that time was the largest county in the US). They served together in the Rogue River Indian Wars 1855-56, and later in the Yakima and Modoc Wars. I have many examples of the close association of this family back to KY, but no solid evidence that would prove that they "ran together" because of the John Keith/Katherine Chenowith connection. No one seems quite sure where Arthur Keith got his information for this claim. Tracing this particular Chenowith line back to Baltimore MD, puts them in the right place and time, but I have never found a Katherine in the group. Reasonable to assume that Arthur wasn't even aware of this specific Warren Cash Keith (btw, one of three WCKs, all cousins, all born in Hardin/Nelson between 1807 and 1819 and all in Alexander Keith's line). Arthur had solid information on all of Wm and Eliz Keith's 11 children, EXCEPT my Henry, so he probably faced the same problems that I'm still trying to sort out. I would love to solve this one...
