Hello,

I have these names in my genealogy file:
John CROMBIE b. c1697 Northern Ireland, d. 25 Sept 1772 Derry, Rockingham, NH, married -
Jane RANKIN b. 1697, d. 08 Aug 1772 Derry, NH. They married 17 Nov 1721.
CHILDREN:
1. James CROMBIE b. c1740 m. Jane CLARK
2. Robert CROMBIE b. 1785 (could this be correct?) m. Mary PATTERSON

The best place to search for these families in at the local LDS library. They have are large data base of Northern Ireland COCHRANE/COCHRAN and related families. Some believe only the English spelled the surname COCHRANE, but I've found it in my COCHRAN line too. My line came to North America from Londonderry, Ireland in 1717. James COCHRAN and Letitia Moor PATTEN were married in Ballykelly, Ireland 12 Apr 1702. They landed in Halifax, Nova Scotia and made their way to Topsham, ME, where James Cochran died in 1720. His wife's PATTEN line has many relations from Maine, but Letitia PATTEN COCHRAN moved with her children to Londonderry, New Hampshire and James Cochran's father, Peter Cochran died in old "Nutfield", Derry, NH.

The CROMBIE-RANKIN surnames are in my file because Jane Crombie b. 27 Jul 1772 married James COCHRAN b. 05 May 1769, a grandson of Thomas and Jeanette ADAMS COCHRAN (Thomas was my ancestor, a child of James and Letitia Moor Cochran).
