Among the reported children of John Conklin (1740-1836)of Suffern, Rockland Co., NY [son of Lewis Conklin (1706-1783) and Mehitable Meeks] and his wife, Catharina was JOHN J. CONKLIN, b. about 1771. One JOHN CONKLIN, born 30 November 1770 (calculated from age at death) - died 13 May 1849 Hopewell, Ontario Co., NY, was buried in the Benham Cemetery [used by the First Methodist Church], Hopewell Twp., Ontario county. In the same cemetery is his wife, Jane, born 3 Jun 1775 (calculated from age at death) - died 6 December 1858, and his father, John Conklin, born 25 August 1740 - died 13 Mar 1836. This discovery corrects earlier reports that John Conklin (1740-1836) was buried in the "Hopewell Burying Ground".
