I have a picture of a 1 yr old girl and on the back it says:
To Aunt Kate from your niece Justina. 1 year old Alberta Elizabeth Conklin.
The "Aunt Kate" is my grandmother - Catherine Justine Smith Schultz. She was born in Newtown, Queens in 1885 and died in New City in 1949. Her parents were Wells Lott SMITH and Ida May MYERS. All 3 are buried in Germonds Presbyterian Cemetery in New City.
I found a census record from 1920/ NY/ Rockland / Ramapo
with the following listing all living in the same house:
Walters, Edward / M / W / 30 / M
Elizabeth / wife / 30
Conklin, Jestina / 28 / sister-in-law
Herbert / 29 / brother-in-law / op ER Railroad
Alberta / niece / 5
Kavanagh, Katherine / 50 / mother-in-law / wd
Katherine Kavanagh was a witness at my grnadmothers wedding in 1908 at Germonds.
I would love to share this picture with someone from the Conklin family. Does anyone know who these people are or how they may be related to my grandmother? ANY information would be most appreciated.
