Dorothy Ann (German) Conklin Obit
ADRIAN — Dorothy Ann Conklin, age 87, of Adrian passed away Jan. 16, 2008.
Dorothy was born Feb. 6, 1920, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Louis and Gladys German. On Jan. 29, 1940, she married John Conklin in Angola, Ind. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1982.
She worked for Ford Motor Company and retired from Peerless Gear. Dorothy was a member of the Adrian VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans and was active in the Lenawee Foster Grandparent Program.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Linda (William) Arnett and John Conklin, both of Adrian; her sister, Gladys (Vern) Silkwood of Arkansas; daughters-in-law, Sue Conklin of Colorado and JoAnn Conklin of Adrian; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, John, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, son, William; and five brothers, Ronald, Philip, Frederick, Louis and Roger German.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held in Baldwin, Mich., at a later date. The family wishes to give a special thank you to Hospice of Lenawee and also thank the staff of Lynwood Manor.
