Still a possibility as being related as you mention your Alexander was from Tain well my Alexander was most likely born in Wick but the family moved to Tain c 1881
Although the marriage in Edinburgh 1908 is wrong for your link unless it was a second wife as he would have been 36 year old then. Maybe he went to Dublin as a young lad. Bain also is a Caithness name.
I will search and try to find out more on this for both of us. Have you any other bits.
