This is a long shot but if your oral family history matches, please contact me. FACTS Benjamin Correll was born in Ireland 1813-1815. He was married in the Diocese of Ossory, Leinster Province, Ireland in 1841. He and his wife then left Ireland and settled in Brooklyn, NY. He worked as a blacksmith after he arrived in New York. ORAL FAMILY HISTORY Benjamin worked as a wheel maker on a horse estate in Ireland. He had several brothers. One brother died in Ireland in a dispute with Catholics. There is one single mention of another brother came to the United States before Benjamin came over. (I did not find any supporting documentation for a brother in the United States when I researched Brooklyn, NY sources. However, the sources I was able to research for that time period were very limited.) SPECULATION Benjamin and his wife may have followed the old Irish naming patterns for their children based on the names of their daughter and third son. If they followed the naming pattern, William would have been the name of Benjamin's father and the name of his brother. Notify Administrator about this message?
