Good Day, Though I'm not a Crane descendant, I have Crane's connected laterally to family lines, and I'm currently working with another family member to ascertain the earlier generations of this CRANE family. Amos Crane/Crain, b. Abt. 1793, New Brunswick, Canada, was son of Daniel and Sarah Crane. Sarah was either a SEWELL or a WHITE (still working this issue). Near as we can determine, Amos had the following siblings, all born in New Brunswick, all in York County, more than likely: 1. Sarah Crane, b. 1785, married George Boone 2. Daniel Crane, Jr., b. @1788, NFI 3. Moses Crane, b. @1791 (MAY be father or uncle of the William Crane b. @1812, NB, who also removed to Hodgdon, ME). 4. Amos, of course, who is perhaps the same who married Abigail Parsons, in 1823, in York County, NB, and had Daniel Crane and Noah J. Crane, b. NB, removed to Maine. 5. Adam Crane, b. @1795, NB, m. Sarah/Sally Todd in 1823, as well, probably in Mar/May timeframe. 6. Thomas Crane, b. @1799, NB. If you happen to have any clues to the Sarah SEWELL or WHITE mystery, or, ancestry of Daniel Crane, b. @1750, d. 1815, NB, probably married 1770-1775 in "US", prior to arriving in Canada in 1783 (was a corporal with the New York Volunteers - more information on that, if needed). Sarah, his wife, lived at least until 1843, possibly longer, but is not found (so far) in 1851 Canada Census OR the 1850 US Census (perhaps living with one of the families who migrated the 50-60 miles west to Maine! :-) The family lived in both York and Carleton Counties in NB, and had connections, surely, to both Douglas and Woodstock in York County, not far from the US border, nor far from both Hodgdon and Linneus, where these siblings appear to have migrated. Other WHITE family members found in this same area include Isaac WHITE, b. @1767, and his brother, Thomas, b. @1774, both in NY. These COULD be brothers of the Sarah that married Daniel Crane, should she prove to be a WHITE vs. a SEWELL. Look forward to exchanging information.
