Hi,

I have a John Crosbie marrying a Jean Douglas in 1798 in Dumfries, Scotland; their daughter Isabella was born in Dumfries in 1818 and married a John Aitken Henderson in 1842: Isabella is my ggg grandmother.

I also have a Jannet (or could be Jessie - the names do seem interchangeable) Crosbie from Dumfries (b 1762) who married a James Henderson in Dumfries in 1781 - these two are John Aitken Henderson's grandparents so this Crosbie is my ggggg grandmother.

Although I can trace the Hendsersons further back I cannot find any further data on John Crosbie, or of Jannet/Jessie Crosbie on the other side. I would be interested to see if they were related in some way or if the surname match is a coincidence.
