Our Edward was living in Gadsden co. FLorida in 1870 (census says he was 72 years old). Have no record of his death (suppose somewhere between 1870 & 1880). According to the 1830 & 1840 census he was living in Thomas Co. GA. Don't know exact date he moved to Gadsden/Liberty Co. in 1850s. He had 3 sons that we know of: Lofton Edward Crosby was my great grandfather; John Crosby and Richard Crosby; two daughters - Elizabeth and the other name escapes me right now. Edward was married to Creasy Strickland in 1830s in Thomas Co. Have no clue to where he was from before that-need to find out. I have seen Paul & Peter Crosby in the census in Thomas & Colquit Counties around 1830-40's. I have no idea if any of the Crosby's in Madison is kin to us - could be? There are "Boatwright's" in Jefferson Co. that are kin to us through Lofton's daughter Laura Crosby Boatwright. There was an Edward that was living with Edward the older in 1870. He was 13 years old. Could be your Edward in Madison? There was a Henry Crosby living in Gadsden Co. in 1860 census with a Todd family - says he was a laborer-21 years old. If you have any information let me know.
