I really, really need some help with the following Crosby family. I've been looking for several yrs and have had no luck. I know this Crosby family has to have descendants in the USA, somewhere! The following data is found on census records and while they are not always correct, maybe enough is correct that someone will be able to help me. CHATTOOGA CO GA 1880 Census: Hugh W? Crosby, b. ca 1846 in AL. Father b. NC, Mother NC. Sarah, wife b. ca 1849 GA. Her Father b. SC, Mother SC. James W. b. ca 1869 AL. Sarah and son, James W Crosby were found on the earlier 1870 Morgan Co, AL census without Hugh. James W was a 9 month old infant at the time. Hugh suddenly shows up on the 1880 GA record. Hugh and Sarah's other children are: Milton b. ca 1872 AL; Lafayette b. ca 1873 in TN; and John G., b. ca 1876 in AL. Apparently, Hugh and Sarah have 3 more children after 1880 if the 1900 census below is correct. They would be Callie, Frank & Isaac Crosby. Ancestry.com has 1900 Scottsboro, Jackson Co, AL census showing a family that I believe to be the same as above. Shown on this census are: Hugh Crosby b. Dec 1846; Mary M (TERRY?), a new wife of 1 year, b. April 1861 in TN. Her father b. ARK, mother TN. Frank, a son, b. Jan 1886 AL; Isaac, a son, b. AL Dec 1889; Callie, a married daughter, b. April 1883 AL; Andrew Flipps/Fellippe, son-in-law, b. Oct 1878 TN; James E TERRY, step-son b. June 1881 TN; John Crosby, a 23 year old son, b. Oct 1876 in AL. I believe this to be the same John shown on the 1880 Chattooga Co, GA census. This is all I know; can someone please help? Notify Administrator about this message?
