I hope someone can help me with this one. My great-grandmother was Mary Ann Rumbaugh. Her mother was Louisa Daggett, born 1843 in Indiana and married John Rumbaugh on 9/01/1861 in Fulton, Indiana. Mary Ann was born in Indiana and then the family moved to Iowa. Then on to Collin County, Texas. Mary Ann married my great-grandfather, James Reed. Louisa died in Texas and John moved out to California with his and Louisas' youngest son and wife.
Please help with the ancestors of Louisa. I have a picture of my great grandmother, Mary Ann, and she appears to be at least 1/2 Native American. We were always told that she was Cherokee, but have no proof. I have been in contact with the Rumbaugh side and they insist there are no Native American connections on that side.
