A short biography/family history of John R. Daily is included in "Montana, Its Story & Biography", Vol 2.
John was born to Martin H. and Julia A. (Nichols) Daily, early settlers in Indiana.
John R. was raised and educated in Indiana & located to Montana in 1889, where he first worked as a ranch hand. In 1890, he bought the Union Market in Missoula, which over the years developed into four markets and a cold storage plant in Missoula. He was the director of the Missoula Trust and Savings Bank and also a breeder of fine horses.
In 1892, John R. married Caroline Jameson, daughter of J.C. Jameson of Missoula. Carolyn died in 1911 and in 1912, John R. married Alice Brewer, daughter of W.L. Brewer of Missoula.
John R. Daily died 19 Jan 1941, age 63, Missoula, MT
Alice Daily died 24 Apr 1925, age 43, Missoula, MT
Caroline E. Daily died 3 Apr 1911, age 40, Missoula, MT
