Deboard, Joseph 2. Joseph Deboard (Jacob) was born about 1788 in North Carolina. He died about 1860.
Prince, Martha
Joseph married Martha Prince daughter of John William Prince and Mary Giles. Martha was born about 1791 in North Carolina. She died in 1860 in Kentucky.
They had the following children:

Third Generation
Deboard, Mary 3. Mary Deboard (Joseph, Jacob) was born about 1818 in North Carolina.
Fields, James
Mary married James Fields about 1840 in Kentucky. James was born on 25 Feb 1819 in Kentucky.
I believe the James Fields who married Mary Debord in 1835 was the son of Jason Fields b.1790, who
was a son of Hiram Lansford Fields and Fanny Mays. Jason (or William Jason as some refer to him)is
documented as marrying Anna Creech about 1819 in Harlan, Ky. There is evidence he also married a
Sarah Eldridge or Aldridge around 1814, and that the union produced a son named Richard Lewis Fields,
born about 1819. My theory is that Jason and Sarah had another son, born about 1814-15, and that son
was the James that married Mary Debord. The 1830 census for Harlan Kentucky lists Jason along with 4
sons under the age of 15, and 3 daughters under 15. The listing is: Males 121001 Females
11101 or 1 son under 5 - This would be Hiram b. 18282 sons 5 to 10 - This would be Robert Thomas
b.1825 and Richard Lewis b. 1819 1 son 10 to 15 would be James b. 1815. According to my records,
Jason and Anna Creech Fields had just 2 daughters from 1820 to 1830, so the third daughter in the 10-
15 category must have been from Jason's first wife Sarah, who evidently died around 1819, possibly
giving birth to Richard. This is all speculation of course, but the facts are that Jason claimed 7 children in
1830, and he and Anna Creech had only 4 together by that date, according to all available information.
James Fields b. 1815 lived first in the Lawrence County area and can be found there on the 1840 and
1850 census, then moved to Carter County where he's found in 1860 and 1870. William Jason and Anna
Creech also lived in those areas. There's just really no other pigeonhole to put James as far as the Fields
families of Eastern Kentucky are concerned.
James and Mary had the following children:
