Your apparent William Dalton, age 47, was in Delaware County, Okla in 1910 with the children you list, no wife. Flora was likely a later wife. In 1930, William was listed as William N., age 67, living with son Edgar., no wife for either.
Going back to Indiana, I find two possible Williams for your ancestor.
William married Ellen Horn in 1881 Clay County. in 1881 Clay County. In 1880, this William, age 18, was with his mother Mary age 36, living in a Jenkins household. Mary was born in Ireland. No Dalton spouse present.
In 1870 Clay, Mary 26 and William 8 are alone in Clay.
The other was listed as William E. who married Lillie J. Boggs in 1884 Clark County.
