Seeking any information on an Isham Daulton who married a Mary Harris 28 Feb, 1858 in St Clair county, Alabama. Marriage record directly states that both Isham and Mary had been previously married.
I am researching the Harris line and have some evidence that Mary may be the mother of my g-grandfather Eli Clifton Harris Jr. I do know that Eli's mother was named Mary and Eli had a half-brother named Charley Daulton (born abt 1866) who married a Helon/Helen (maiden name unknown) and they had sons named Isom/Isham and Burl/Burt. He also had a half-sister, Eliza J. Daulton (born abt 1868) who married Elijah Chambers in Cullman county, Alabama (abt 1892)
Oral family history said the marriage (Daulton-Harris) took place after the war but I have the marriage record and it is dated in 1858.
Census of 1870 Blount county, Al shows Mary Daulton as head of household and children are William Harris, Craven Harris, Thomas Harris, Eli Harris, Charley Daulton, and Eliza J. Daulton. Isham is gone but since Eliza was born in 1868, he had to survive to 1867 as a minimum. Note that on census index, they are listed as Drialton.
