i have a yahoo group filled with davis descandants from this area. mine come from johnson county kentucky . we have many photos pics obits docs and other goodies. i am especially tring to solve the mystery of exactley who enoch davis came from. he is shown from 1860 to 1930 in the census as living with mother and grandmother it appears his mother was anna davis and his grandmother was nancy davis, he had an uncle named henry davis. anna later married joel b adams and enoch is listed as a step son to joel. henry later married mary powers and had a son named enoch as well. it also shows when enoch married martha arms and had my great great grandmother mary ann davis who later married john d burke and had flarrie burke my great grandmother and franklin burns burke . i have been able to locate death certificates on mary an davis martha rms and her father wallace arms and a few other davis but none on enoch birth or death info. but anyway back to the reason of the post there are other branches of davis from johnson and surrounding counties as well as virginina and north carolina on the group. we also have members from the catherine e sellards jospeh davis line as i htought at one time this was my branch but i was incorrect as far as i know. anyway please email me at gemini61975@hotmail.com for an invite. lots of johnson county and surrounding area items. thanks angie
