With his father's family he came to Paris, NY, and afteward to Preble, Oneida Co., NY, where he resided until 1827, when he removed to Gainesville, Wyoming Co., NY and engaged in farming. He married Resign Hinman, of Torringford, CT, in 1804. Their children were: Joel G., who is engaged in milling, and resides at Rochester, NY; Margaret A., who married B.F. Bristol, Esq.; Amanda, who died in Gainesville, NY, unmarried; Giles A., now a banker, residing in Castile, NY; Esther, who married R. Burchard, and died in Minnesota; Emily, who married James Cravath, and aftherward married F. Kinney, and died in Oberlin, OH. Mr. and Mrs. Davis were members of the Congregational Church of the town. He voted with the Whig party, was interested in temperance, and a substantial citizen of the town until 1864, when he went to Castile, NY where he died in 1875. -------------------------------------------------- I am not researching this family and I have NO further information to provide.
