I found the 7/13/1614 Will of JAMES CLERKE / CLARKE, Gentleman, of East Farleigh, Kent England on pg 70 of the New England Historical & Genealogical Register, 1920 Vol LXXIV (see books.google.com). It is he who mentioned "DOLAR DAVIS, [as] my trusted servant" and bequethed him "my house and land in the parish of Marden, the which is in the occupation of one Terrye." It would appear that this would be the elder Dolar Davis, the father of immigrant Dolor Davis, who would have been in his teens in 1614. A WILLIAM CLARKE SR along with his wife KATHERINE "Callie" immigrated in 1634. They settled in Salem, Essex, MA where they owned and operated the "Ship Tavern" and Clarke's Farm. Callie married, 2nd, as the 2nd wife of John Gedney Sr and he took over the Tavern and the Farm. SARAH, daughter of William Clarke Sr and Callie was born abt 1620, Lynn, Essex, MA according to LDS. She married Immigrant Capt GEORGE DAVIS in the early 1640's possibly in Lynn. CAN ANYONE SHED LIGHT ON THE PEDIGREES OF IMMIGRANTS DOLOR DAVIS, SON OF DOLAR DAVIS; and GEORGE DAVIS? WAS IMMIGRANT WILLIAM CLARKE SR (PEDIGREE??) RELATED TO THE JAMES CLERKE / CLARKE OF EAST FARLEIGH, KENT, ENGLAND? Notify Administrator about this message?
