BEERS, 1880 ======================================= Volney Day, son of Linus and Lydia Day, was born Aug. 13th, 1809, at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. When young he taught schol. He is now a farmer. He has served the town as highway commissioner. Feb. 16th, 1835, he married ELECTA GRATTON, of Bennington, Wyoming Co.,NY. Linus Day was born in Connecticut, Nov. 13th, 1778, and came to Bennington, Wyoming Co.,NY in 1813. He was a hatter by trade, and after his settlement worked at that occupation in the winter, attending to farming the balance of the years. He was married Oct. 14th, 1808, to LYDIA HOLCOMB, daughter of Adonijah and Charity Holcomb. Mr. Day died Dec. 29th, 1858; Mrs. Day two days earlier. -------------------------------------------- I am not researching this family. I have no further information to provide.
