I have an ancestor Robert Day who, at age 20, came to Boston in 1635 aboard the Hopewell then moved to Ipswich, MA. He was certified by Stanstede Abbey in nearby Hertfordshire. Some of the people on the Hopewell were from Essex.
The coincidence of the name Robert and that Amelia came from Stansted (the name seems to have been spelled several ways over time) suggests a possible commection despite the time difference. I have much data on my Robert after he came here but nothing on his English genealogy. Do you have any data on your Robert's forebearers that might tie the two together?
