I apologize for not giving enough information in my post. I always think more people will read them if they are shorter. I did find the 1910 KC MO cnesus and find Charles as a widower. My mother was Charles and Louisa's only child. She was born on 23 May, 1905 in KC MO. Louisa is believed to have died at my mother's birth. Charles kept my mother for nearly one year using various babysitting arrangements and even a children's home. Because he traveled on business he felt it would never be a good arangement for his daughter so in 1906 she was given for addoption to a childless family in Webster County MO.
I have not been able to find Charles in any census other than 1910. He remained in contact with mother's adoptive family and was last heard from with a postcard from Pittsburgh PA around 1818. I have also been unable to find any death or burial record for Louisa Hearn. The only possible census record I have found is 1880 in MD.
Although< Charles is listed as Claude Brown's bro-in-law, I find their marriage date was only a little different than Charles and Louisa's and Claude's wife did not have the maiden name Moore.

Thanks so much for your reply.
Cheryl
