Hi all - I am looking for any information pertaining to Reeves Lingo originally from North Carolina. Would be great to find out his parents names and any siblings.
Reeves was born in 1802 in Rockingham County, N. C. He married (his first wife) Dolly in the late 1820's or very early 1830's. The pair had three children, one of whom was William Braddock Lingo born in 1832. Reeves was also married to a Leolla (possible maiden name of Morgan) and had more children.
William Braddock Lingo (Reeves and Dolly's son) had two wives and ten children (that I have found thus far). His first wife was Nancy Jane Henderson. Their five children were John S. Lingo, Mary E. Lingo, Milton J. Lingo (who married Mary E. McCaslin), Malissa J. Lingo (who married John S. Pickering), and Matthew Elzy Lingo (who married Lucinda Wilson). William's second wife was Mary Noble and the two had five children - Ida Lingo, Sarah Lingo, William Lingo, James Lingo and Katie Lingo. He moved to Kansas in 1872.
Matthew Elzy Lingo and Lucinda Wilson had nine children Effie Lingo, Matthew Lingo, Virginia Arthela Lingo, Alexander Bose Lingo, Pheba Lingo, Maggie Lingo, Benjamin Lingo, Dollie Lingo, Sylvia Vesta Lingo. After Lucinda died Matthew Elzy Lingo married Mamie E Vincent and the two had Joseph Lingo.
Matthew Lingo (son of Matthew Elzy and Lucinda) married Arrie (possibly Arra) Long. The two had five sons Clyde Lingo, Russel Lingo, James Lingo, Alvin Lingo, and Amos Lingo.
Alvin Lingo married Nona Childers. The two had two daughters Frances Lingo (Young - my mother) and Betty Lingo (Coots).
Any information about Reeves Lingo or the family that I do not have complete as of yet would be greatly appreciated by myself and my family.
