Ok, Barbara. Here goes. Please take this is somewhat theoretical: I'll tell you where the theory is most theoretical.

James Franklin DeMoss, b 31 Dec 1936
son of
John W DeMoss b 2 Oct 1911, d. 29 jul 1968
and Ora T Merritt b 24 jan 1911
John son of
Frank Alexander DeMoss b abt 1890 d. abt 1947
and Mattie Bell Abney b abt 1893 and d 5 Jan 1938
Frank son of
Christopher Eliga (sometimes Eligah) DeMoss, b abt 1854
and Delila R Wallace
Christopher son of
George Lee DeMoss b abt 1828
and Mary C Brinton b abt 1832
Geore son of
Henry M Lee DeMoss b abt 1790 d 4 Sep 1849
and Rebecca Wade b 12 Dec 1795 d 5 Sep 1853
Henry son of
James DeMoss b abt 1758 d 14 feb 1813
and Zana (Zane) Taylor b abt 1762 d abt 1830
James son of
James DeMoss b 8 Sep 1728 d bef 10 Nov 1775
and Phoebe Cox b abt 1730 d bef 1775
James son of
Loie (Louis) Dumas abt 1684/1694 d 1743
and Catherine

Given this scenario, CONGRATULATIONS! you are officially stuck where the rest of us are! If you are confident about Frank's connection to Christopher, I am reasonably sure about the rest of the connections. Having said this, there may still be some controversy around the James connections. The trick will be to fill in several dates and places and confirm as much as possibly with existing records. There is likely stuff out there nobody has found yet. Of course, you have an obligation to the rest of us to share if you find stuff! :) As for Loie, there are many lovely items of lore about him, and if you look into a couple of books out there, you will see them outlined. The crux of the problem is tying him to Europe. That's a whole 'nother chapter. Happy hunting!
