Hello Tony,
John Dempsey born c1812 and wife Ann Howie b1818 Co Antrim.
Their family were John, JAMES, Helen, Matilda, Margaret, John, Jane, Robert and Jane.
JAMES, my gt grandfather, married Eliz. George Easton in Carmoney, Co. Antrim in 1869. Their first son, John, was born in Dalmellington in 1870, followed by Eliz, James*, Ann, Sam, Helen, William, Matilda, Robert, WILLIAM and Margaret.
WILLIAM was my Grandfather. James* emigrated to New York.
The family, as far as I know worked for the mining company. I think my gt. grandfather had the mine store.

The only possible connection could be that your Daniel
Dempsey could have been a brother of my John Dempsey born c1812? Although, as there are no Daniels in my branch, it is bit unlikely.Regards, Helen
