i have been taking the 1830 and the 1840 Spartanburg Dist, census and trying to figure out which of the Dempsey/Demsy men were the father of 3rd g-grandfather Bailum Dempsey......
Bailum's name looks like Railum in the 1850 census.
so far i have narrowed it down to the possbile James in the 1830 and 1840 census.
Bailum was suppose to born abt. 1827 and James is the only one who has a son in each census record that would fit.
now my question is, who was James's father ??? was it the Barnett listed in the 1790 and 1800 Spartanburg Dist census ???
Bailum married Harriett O'Shield.
