I am still in the family tree mapping stages of these early Dinsmoors, but I plan to add more as often as possible. Keep checking back.
Laird DINSMOOR First of name. Pure Scot. Wife unknown. Laird was probably not his first name but a title and would indicate that he was a man of some note and consequence in his locality. Born in Auld Scotia, certainly not far from the year 1600. He was a farmer, had tenants under him, and dwelt on the banks of the flowing Tweed, at a place which tradition has variously called Achenmead, Auchinmede, Aikenmead, and other variations of the name. Father of two[2] sons. Died in Scotland, age or year unknown.
John DINSMOOR Wife unknown. The second son of Laird Dinsmoor, born in Scotland presumably about 1650. In 1667 he forsook his father's house and his native land and went forth, first appearing in the Province of Ulster in the Parish of Ballymoney, County of Antrim, Ireland. Married about 1670. Had four children. Left a widower at age 70. Lived to the great age of 99 years. When he came to Ireland he found himself surrounded not by strange people but by those of his own race and nation.
Samuel DINSMOOR Wife unknown. Born in Ballywattick, Ireland, presumably as early as 1677, but there is no definite record.
