The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, February 23, 1905 LOCAL NEWS: C.B. GUTHRIE of Chicago has been spending a few days with his Chariton friends and attending the inspection of Company H. FRED LARIMER has been unable to attend to his duties at the post office the past week on account of illness. The Rev. J. HOLLISTER LYNCH of Ottumwa, Iowa, will officiate and preach at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Sunday morning at 11 o'clock and Sunday afternoon at 4:30. You are invited to the services. MR. and MRS. BERT TANSEY and two children returned last evening from an extended visit with relatives in Weldon. MRS. CARL C. EGGERT returned Monday from an extended visit with relatives in Crawford, Neb. MRS. I.M. MARTIN of Osceola, returned home yesterday after a visit with her daughter, MRS. C.T. STAFFORD. MISS EVA DYE, of Humeston made a brief visit in Chariton yesterday with MRS. C.A. ABRAHAMSON while on her way to Indianola. The school in the Fain District, west of Chariton, taught by MISS REGIA TALBOTT, closed Wednesday with an exhibition by the pupils. The term has been a very successful one and MISS TALBOTT has given excellent satisfaction. G.B. WRIGHT of Warren Township, returned last evening from a business trip to Ottumwa. MR. and MRS. J.C. KUHNS and two children of Chicago accompanied the remains of her mother, MRS. B.F. BATES, to this city, for interment. Rev. F.W. HENRY, Rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, was in Ottumwa several days this week attending ordination services and deanery meetings. MRS. CALEB SHELTON and sons, JOE and GRANT, were called to Afton last Saturday by the dangerous illness of her mother, MRS. SARAH SMITH. MRS. H.H. LARIMER is spending today with friends in Osceola.
