From Bassett's Book of Antrim, 1888

"Early in the last century the Millar family acquired the Old Green, but long before their time it had been used for linen bleaching. Mr Francis Dinsmore succeeded the Millars in 1796...His son, Francis, came into possession in 1821...Mr Francis Dinsmore, the second, died in 1864, and the proprietorship then devolved on the present owner, Mr John Dinsmore [who] in a compratively short time had the Old Green Mills remodeled, enlarged, and fully fitted with carding, and spinning machinery, and power looms."

From the same book we find the following:
Dyer and finisher: F. Dinsmore
Grocers: F. Dinsmore
J. Hyndman
Woollen mftr: John Dinsmore
Residents:
John Dinsmore, Ballymuckvea
John Dinsmore, Lisnawhiggle
L. Hyndman, Forthill
Mrs Hyndman, Galnock
W. J. Hyndman, Ross

From a different source:

Jane Hyndman, d. 1886, aged 82 married Francis Dinsmore of Old Green, Ballymena, d. 1864, aged 79 and had issue,
1. Sarah Dinsmore, d. 1856, aged 20.
2. Nannie Dinsmore, d. 1867, aged 27.
3. Jane Dinsmore, d. 1861, aged 37.
1. John Dinsmore, J.P. of Crebilly House; educated at the Old Belfast Academy. Head of the firm of J. Dinsmore and Son, woollen manufacturers. He was also a Poor Law Guardian for over 30 years and a member of the Antrim County Council, Kells Division, until he retired in 1905.

From James Kenny's book, "As the Crow Flies Over Rough Terrain,"

"The new owner and resident at Crebilly House was John Dinsmore, J.P. He followed Lady Wardlow, who died there 17th May, 1895, and was a grandson of Francis Dinsmore, who in 1796 settled in Old Green, Connor, near Kells. Married in 1868, he had three sons and two daughters; the eldest son, John, lived at Old Green and managed the Woollen Mills. His purchase included the Beetling Mills on the farm later owned by the Owens family of Ballymarlow and more recently by John Kissack..." In 1917 Crebilly House was sold by John Dinsmore to James Kelly Robinson of Philadelphia.

John Dinsmore married as his 2nd wife in 1909 Mary Elizabeth Brown Irwin, a famed linguist and musician.
