Caryll Gustafson Dinsmore was born on September 23, 1942, at her family home in rural Deerwood, Minnesota. Her parents, Emory and Lydia Gustafson along with her siblings gave her a happy, simple life grounded in faith, service and love for others. Music and church involvement have always been important parts of Caryll's life. Taught by her mother, she started playing piano at an early age. She graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1960 before attending Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Wanting to be a wife and mother, she married her best friend, Howard Dinsmore on August 10, 1963, at Centeral Baptist Church in St. Paul. Early married life brought them to Ortonville and Bellingham, Minnesota. Starting their family with close, committed friends; the arrival of Cheryl and Linda added to their joy. Moving to Slayton in 1969 for Howard's teaching career, the additions of Jonathan and Amy completed their family. As an integral component, Caryll's involvement at Lake Sarah Baptist has included numerous years of being church pianist, missions committee, church treasurer, music committee, choir and serving group co-chair. Never wanting anyone to hunger, Caryll attended to community members through Meals on Wheels and the Murray County Food Shelf where she had been treasurer since its inception. Her service to others has included Christian Women's Club, Slayton Girl Scouts, the Banquet and volunteering for the residents of the Arnold Memorial Health Care Center in Adrian. Lifelong interests for Caryll have been cooking and watching food shows, reading newspapers, traveling, music and ultimately making her family and friends feel special and valued. As a dedicated employee of Slayton Manor, she tended to resident laundry with kindness and care. After battling cancer, she went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, surrounded by her loving family and the support of Murray County Hospice at the Cheryl and Tim Reisdorfer home in rural Adrian, Minnesota.

Remembering her kindly and lovingly are her devoted husband Howard Dinsmore, Slayton, her children: Cheryl and Tim Reisdorfer, Adrian, MN; Linda Dinsmore, Plymouth, MN; Jonathan Dinsmore, St. Paul, MN; Amy Dinsmore, Slayton, MN; two grandchildren: Christopher and David Reisdorfer; brothers and sisters: Al Gustafson, Santiago del Estero, Argentina; Ruth and Morris Motley, Olathe, KS; Grace and James Sjordal, Hamel, MN; Delores O'Brien, Inver Grove Heights, MN; and in-laws; Howard Dinsmore, Sr. of Lakeland, FL; George Dinsmore, St. Paul, MN; Eva Mershon, Lakeland, FL; Connie Stills, Lakeland, FL; Laura Hall, Polk City, FL; and James Dinsmore, Palm Bay, FL.
