Hi Jack, I saw your posting and was hoping you could point me in the right direction. I am looking for the marriage entry for my g.grandparents, James Dixon and Mary McNally. They were married on the 16th Feb,1871 in Clontibret,according to their son's b.cert.(he was born in Scotland)I'm hoping this record might have info on their birth areas or parents(?) However i don't know what religion they were and so have been going around in circles, emailing churches that are unable to get back to me. Can u advise me as to whether the records you mention would be of help and how i go about accessing these? I have been looking for these people for 18months and it's going nowhere. i would really appreciate any advice you can give me.
