Hello Michelle,
Would be very interested in further information. I have a Newspaper clipping of an old photograph taken at Waimgawa (later called East Taratahi) (near Carterton) School 1914-1915. In is is Edmund Downes, Tony Downes, Katie Downes & May Downes - all brothers & sisters. I know this must somehow relate to the 'Downes' Ihave as Pual said his family went to this school way back yonder. Any information you can give me about 'your' Cyril may help connect him to the Downes I have listed too.
