I am hoping to find information on Anthony and Jane's family background in England and Ireland. Where they were born and who their antecedents were. The information I have is Anthony was born 1752 in England, lived in Northern Ireland. He married Jane Duphel in Northern Ireland in 1771. I have no date or ship for their arrival in s.Carolina.
Anthony enlisted in the 1st S. Carolina Regiment, as a private, eventually promoted to Sgt. Major. He last appeared on a roll My 1783. He was captured by the British, sent to Cuba, where he died of yellow fever.
Jane Duphe. Duffield remarried a Doriety, lived in Charleston, raised a family and died after 1820.
Anthony and Jane had two children: William and Jane. Jane married a Pease and moved to Georgia.
William married a Mary Johnston, and they had six children:
James. 1796-1880 md. Katherine Worley 1803-1882
Charmer Presley, Briah, William, Ellen and Mary Ann.
James and Katherine Worley Duffield lived in Pike County, Ill. They had eleven children, the youngest Sarah Catherine was my grgrandmother.
