The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, November 28, 1907 A quiet but beautiful wedding occurred at the home of Rev. and Mrs. F.B. Palmer in Boulder, Colorado, on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 24th, when MR. JOHN L CARPENTER of Denver, and MISS MYRA M. DUKES of Chariton, Iowa, were united in marriage by Rev. Palmer. The groom, a successful young business man in Denver, is a son of MR. and MRS. CARPENTER, residing five miles south of Chariton, where he grew up into honorable young manhood. The bride is the accomplished daughter of MR. and MRS. JOHN DUKES formerly of Chariton, but now residing four miles south of Russell.
