Have you seen the will of William Webb of Buckingham county dated 12 June 1829? William was the father of Sarah Ann Webb. He died 8 June 1830. There is also a copy of his bible records that I have. I think there was a mistake in recording the marriage of D.E.M.W. Durphy and Abraham Webb on Feb. 7, 1822. I think it should read Dr. Edward M.W. Durphey and Sarah Ann Webb. I note in the bible records that their oldest child was a Neptune Durphey born Feb. 7, 1822. Ed M. W. Durphey died 14 Dec. 1857 in Appomattox Co. I have seven children listed for him. In 1815 there was an E. Walker Durfey as deputy postmaster in York/Williamsburg. In 1816 Dr. E.M.W. Durphey lived in the city of Richmond. By 1820 he was in Charlotte Co VA and in the 1850 census he is in Appomattox Co.
I believe Dr. Durphey ties into the line of Francis Durfey of 1660 in York Co VA. I have worked on this line for 20 plus years now and am glad to finally talk to someone about Dr. Durphey's line. Email me as I would love to share info with you. How are you related?
