While visiting the coastal town of Port Lavaca, Tx. I stumbled on a small cemetery there. It is called Ranger Cemetery (I assume TEXAS Rangers). In it there is a stone for W. Gibson Ewing b Londerry, Ireland 12 April 1818, d. Port Lavaca, tx. Oct 26, 1846. The stone states it was placed by his sister who "placed the marker as his many virtures do not require recording on marble." There are no other Ewings in the cemetery. Hope this helps someone.
