Hello Susan, There are quite a few Kock names listed in the Finnish birth records up to about the late 1800's. Do you know any other names that are connected to the John you mentioned being here in the 1700's? If he did come from Finland, there has to be some siblings listed somewhere. By the way, there was a Johan Kock who was a leader in the Red Guards during the "Uprising" in Finland. He ended up fleeing to Massachusetts in the early 1900's. If you have some more names, etc., it would be helpful.
